The Order of Mechanics
 
During the Middle Ages a craft workshop where physical structures such as temples, palaces, churches and castles were made by craftsmen. The creation
of mental structures, which we call Mechanism, is to complete the inner temple of man.
 
The Independent Order of Mechanics Friendly Society Preston Unity, under the jurisdiction of  The Federal Grand Lodge No: 132, is under the leadership of the Grand Master. In The Netherlands,  is the Grand Lodge represented by District Grand Master.
 
In June 1971, The Independent Order Of Mechanics Preston Unity was erected at Rothaan house on the Rozengracht in Amsterdam, as the first Mechanic Lodge in The Netherlands and was inaugurated in June 1972. In August 1989, the Lodge was  moved to the Arie Biemondstraat and was led by the late District Grand-master Bro. A.A. Pleisner whom incidentlly was the founder of the Mechanic Order in The Netherlands.
 
In January 2006 the Order was the Lodge headed by District Grandmaster Bro. M.F. Penig the Lodge was relocated to the Ite Boeremastraat in Amsterdam-West. In January 2010 a new temple on the Bietle Kade No.7 Amsterdam-North became a reality, and is now under leadership of the current District Grand Master .
